My Christmas Candidate Wishlist

This year I am asking Santa for some qualified lawyers with more than 18 months PQE! It is without doubt the busiest December I can remember in legal recruitment. Please find an update below on some of the most active roles I am working on.

Sydney

12 x Banking & Finance roles- across top tier, global and international firms. Looking at lawyers with more than 2 PQE up to senior SA. Leveraged, DCM, Project finance are all in high demand.

2 x Competition – 1 role at SA level and another at 2-5 PQE

19 x Corporate M&A/ ECM/ Private Equity. Equal spread of SA to non SA level. Most heat at 3-7 PQE although strong junior actively encouraged to apply.

6 x Construction Litigation and 3 non -contentious Construction/Projects.

13 x Commercial Litigation- Very busy especially interested in anyone with regulatory litigation. Spread evenly across mid level and SA’s.

9 x Property. Some excellent high quality roles across full gamut of practices (top tier, global and mid-tier firms all recruiting). Kensington Parry are also working on a couple of exclusive briefs.

3 x Environment & Planning- activity is picking up.

3 x Tax- direct, indirect and transfer pricing lawyers all needed at 2-5 PQE

7 x Funds roles, predominantly need at SA level although 1 junior role exists at high profile global firm.

4 x IP- Main need for IP (Trademarks) and IP litigation.

2 x TMT- 1 at SA level and another at Associate level.

Melbourne

4 x Banking and Finance. Main need at 3+ Level. High quality applicants required.

5 x Corporate – Core need lawyers with 3+ years of M&A experience. Very hot market for candidates looking to take a step up.

7 x Litigation roles- Every type of litigation lawyer in demand. Very buoyant area.

3 x Employment- main need at the 3-5 PQE level

4 x Property lawyers- looking at 3-5 PQE level.

1 x Funds SA (ideally need Chapter 7 Experience). Excellent long term prospects with this role.

2 x Tax lawyers- corporate tax experience needed at 2-4 PQE

Perth

8 x litigation- across insolvency, construction or commercial litigation. All levels. Vacancies across a range of firms.

2 x Banking -Core need at 2-5 PQE

6 x Corporate/ ERI- Multiple roles across a wide variety of practices.

Brisbane

3 x Corporate- main need at 3-6 PQE level

3 x Projects- SA level

3 x Property- 2-5 PQE level needed

2 x TMT- SA level required.

London

5 x Corporate – across US and Magic Circle firms. M&A/ PE lawyers in demand. 3-6 PQE

2 x TMT – 3- 7 PQE

4 x Property 3-6 PQE

4 x Banking- 2.5 -5 PQE.

7 x Funds/ FS regulation- 3-8 PQE- a very buoyant market and quality Australian lawyers urgently needed.
